Questions People are Asking…

Should my music be in any particular order? Nope! I’m doing mine in chronological order by composer birthdate.

Do I need an international cell plan? How do I get one? That’s up to you! My cell phone will have a cell and you could use it if needed. WhatsApp is a great way to stay in touch with folk — no international plan required, just access to wifi.

Is there a baggage transfer? Yes! We’ve arranged for a baggage transfer for everyone. You can take one modest piece of luggage, put our Vox tag on it, and it will be taken from one hotel to the next! You can walk with simply a daypack, if you’d like.

Will there be laundry services available? Off and on, yes. Laundromats will likely be available in most towns. Most pilgrims, however, hand wash their clothes on a nightly basis.

What am I supposed to wear at Mass and Concert? You can wear your hiking attire! In fact, it’s encouraged. But it might be best to stay away from shorts at the Cathedral.

I’m reading that I need a “Credential” to begin my pilgrimage. How do I get it? We will receive our credentials when we receive our Pilgrim’s Blessing before we start our journey.

Exactly how many people do you think we’ll see on the Camino? Expect lots of people. Word is that there are maybe 2000 pilgrims a day. This will be a brand new experience for Vox, which is very exciting.

People need wild places.  Whether or not we think we do, we do.  We need to be able to taste grace and know again that we desire it.  We need to experience a landscape that is timeless, whose agenda moves at the pace of speciation and glaciers.  To be surrounded by a singing, mating, howling commotion of other species, all of which love their lives as much as we do ours, and none of which could possibly care less about us in our place.  It reminds us that our plans are small and somewhat absurd.        BARBARA KINGSOLVER, Small Wonder
