Monday June 20

Today you arrive in Santiago de Compostela! You coordinate your own travel to Santiago de Compostela. Most folk will arrive via Madrid, but you might find cheaper flights through other entry points to Europe. You might have your own favorite travel site, but we often find Rome2Rio to be helpful. (It’s also possible to take a train from Madrid, but you should plan on adding several extra hours if that’s your choice.) When you know your arrival information, please complete the Flight Information Form here so we can help you transfer from the Santiago Airport to our lodging. We do not have a rehearsal planned for this day, so as long as you arrive in time to go to sleep, you should be okay!

Tuesday, June 21

Today we travel East by private coach to Pedrafita do Cebreiro. This day will include our first rehearsal and hopefully a chance to rest to get ready for our walk!

Today we complete the walk, arriving back in Santiago de Compostela.

People need wild places.  Whether or not we think we do, we do.  We need to be able to taste grace and know again that we desire it.  We need to experience a landscape that is timeless, whose agenda moves at the pace of speciation and glaciers.  To be surrounded by a singing, mating, howling commotion of other species, all of which love their lives as much as we do ours, and none of which could possibly care less about us in our place.  It reminds us that our plans are small and somewhat absurd.        BARBARA KINGSOLVER, Small Wonder
