We walked away from Shillelagh today. As we climbed a hill, the forest rose on either side. The path was clear, but the trees were dense.
We usually spread out when we walk. People are embracing their own stride. Yet for a moment we were near each other and caught sight of a clearing in the forest.
The forest tugged at us a bit. So we stopped and offered it our music.
The forest makes an excellent audience. Patient. Attentive. Wise. Grateful.
The wind blew through the spot as we finished, applauding the sounds we brought into the space.
